IN FOCUS PETERBOROUGH – MKDSA – Milton Keynes Dons Supporters Association.

IN FOCUS PETERBOROUGH

Over the years this fixture has thrown up some incredible moments, none more so than the game where Walsh and Sow got sent off, and in between those red cards Chuks Aneke scored to give us a fragile lead. What transpired next will haunt Posh fans for years as 9 good men and true fought like warriors, Chuks single handily led the attack, we of course rode our luck a bit, some magic from Nicholls, the odd one or two hitting the woodwork, and the Posh players wasting chance after chance as the lads defended like their lives depended on it, but we hung on to an astonishing victory.

There have also been some seriously bad moments in our short but colourful history, one that sticks out is the playoff 1st leg, Posh losing 3-1 and down to 10 men were thrown a lifeline by some dodgy decisions, firstly replays showed Little fell over his own legs, the incident was outside the box anyway, but Gleeson was given red and worse the penalty was converted giving Posh a lifeline, the fact that Gleeson was reprieved on appeal mattered little, the damage was done.

Another great moment was the Aneke goal at their dump of a ground, it was a fantastic day, winning 4-0, but that goal will stay with me forever, hit with such venom you couldn’t see it with the naked eye, slow motion replays couldn’t do it justice, and even some of their fans clapped it.

2020/21 SEASON – Peterborough are currently sitting in 4th place in the league table with a record of PLAYED 17, WON 10, DRAWN 1, LOST 6, giving them 31 points. They haven’t yet drawn an away game in League 1 this season, they lost their first two fixtures on the road, won their next four, and since lost their next three.
