Tom Stewart

By Franco Volpe, Chair MKDSA

It was with great sadness but with even more pride that today I represented the MKDSA at the celebration of Tom Stewart.

Tom’s funeral was at Crownhill and was also attended by current committee member John Samuel and former member Caroline Green who both served under Tom’s leadership.

It was great to learn about Tom’s early days in Glasgow, his time serving his country driving tanks and his drumming in a band in the 1960’s amongst other things.

Tom lived a busy packed life but he always seemingly had time for others.

His coffin had a Saltire made from flowers on it and the service ended with a lone piper playing Flower of Scotland.

Rest in Peace Tom, we thank you for all you did for the MKDSA.
