We are now just six days away from the start of a new season.
Six players have been brought into Graham Alexander’s squad Alex Gilbey, Nathan Harness, Craig MacGillivray, Cameron Norman, MJ Williams, and now Tommy Smith.
Our midfield and defensive setup does look on paper a stronger lineup, but football isn’t played on paper. You can argue that what we’ve lost has been either equalled or improved, but as ever, its goals you score that get you wins.
Our firepower isn’t that great. The fan base is most uneasy about it. Against two non-league opponents, we struggled. Coventry was always going to be a tough run out. Northampton, we made a second half go of it only to fall away to another defeat with two late goals.
Northampton was our last chance to put things into a real-time situation before the trip to North Wales.
