Ryan’s Ref Review Stockport

Firstly, I’d like to apologize for no reff post last Saturday. No excuse, but my job got in the way of things.

After a fantastic win against Crewe and promotion rivals, Matt Dennis scored 2 goals, and Stephen Wearne found the back of the net for the first time at Stadium MK. This Saturday, we play Stockport, and if we win, we could end up in 2nd place. The referee for our battle for 2nd place is Marc Edwards.

Edwards became an EFL referee in the 2019/2020 season. This season, he has officiated 22 games across League One and League Two, handing out 94 yellow cards and 1 straight red card.

Edwards has refereed for MK Dons 7 times. The first time he was our referee was during a 1-0 loss against Fleetwood in 2019. The most recent time he officiated for us was during a 2-1 loss to Morecambe this season.

Edwards has been Stockport’s referee twice. The first time he officiated for them was during a 4-0 win over Swindon in the FA Cup first round in November 2022. The last time he was their referee was this season in a 3-3 draw against Crawley Town.

His assistant referees are Jacob Lehane and Danny Jarvis, and the Fourth Official is Declan Bourne.

Let’s hope we end the weekend in the automatic promotion spots where we deserve to be.
