MK Can: MK Did

A dramatic Dons Day was added to by the City of Milton Keynes going into the Guinness Book of World Records yesterday.

The MK Foodbank had been planning this audacious attempt for 18 months and it showed not only the ambition and organisational skills of Milton Keynes but above anything it showed the generosity of our City.

We have “can do” in our blood in the New City and the record to beat was 44,966 cans laid continuously in a line.

The Foodbank team had a target, but also, and more importantly a purpose, this was a way to ensure a supply of food for distribution to those needing help at the hardest time of the year.

They smashed it more than TWICE over …102 447 cans in the MK line.

The MKDSA not only contributed on your behalf but also attended and supported the attempt. Three of our committee were in attendance during the Ciaron Flanagan, Amanda Lansbury and Kieran Lansbury-Yemm.

We’d like to congratulate all those who took part and made the City of Milton Keynes official World Record Holders.
