The Milton Keynes Dons Supporters Association is proud to have secured the deal to be the Player Sponsor of Angelina Nixon of MK Dons Women’s FC. The deal runs until the end of the 2023/4 season.
Angelina played her first game since the deal was signed and the No 7 played a vital part in the Dons victory.
Inside the first three minutes she had a goal chalked off for a foul. Four minutes later she won the ball in an advanced position, dropped a shoulder, beat her defender, shot and it was helped over the line by Mollie Coupar.
In the 19th minute Nixon wasnt going to be beaten to the ball from a corner and her header put the Dons 2-1 up.
She had a couple of other chances with decent strikes from distance without joy, but in a heroic effort chasing a forward to keep the ball in by the corner flag she went down in a heap and while she got back to her feet without treatment it was clear she wasn’t moving as freely.
As the Dons face Oxford on Tuesday and have their Berks and Bucks Cup final on Sunday she was wisely withdrawn by manager Charlie Bill at half time and didnt play any part of the second half, and while disappointing it was the right thing to do.
We’ve got ourselves an absolute warrior and leader on the park. She’s also quite a nice person off the park too.
The MKDSA wish Angelina and the MK Dons Women’s FC the best of luck for the remainder of the season.
