Bristol Rovers review:
Liam Manning oversaw another lacklustre defeat to Bristol Rovers at home on Tuesday 11th October, at Stadiummk.

The Gas won the game 1-0 after Antony Evans converted from the penalty spot, in another exhibition of schoolboy football from Manning’s young team. The result moved Barton’s Bristol team up to 15th in the standings, and left Dons nursing another set of wounds following their 3rd consecutive defeat, and remaining 3rd bottom in the table.

Lewis Gibson volleyed an effort over the bar for the visitors, from outside the home area after some decent work from Paul Coutts who had chipped a ball back to him from a corner kick. However, chances for either side were at a premium in a drab first half of this clash.

The Dons took 49 minutes just to create anything of note on target, Johnson registered a header following a Dan Harvie cross – which failed to trouble Jamie Belshaw in the Gas’ goal.Dons loanee Jamie Cumming was called into action as striker Ryan Loft hit a low shot at the Chelsea loanee, who pushed the ball around the post, and also having to be at his best to deny Gibson tipping his header over the bar.

The winner came for Joey Barton and Bristol Rovers just 14 minutes from time, Evans slotting home after striker loft had been pulled back inside the area.

The boos rang around the SMK after the game with cries of “you’re not fit to wear the shirt!” directed at Dons players. Justified? Maybe, maybe not.

How Dons could line-up?
Don’t expect a change in formation despite the fact that this formation of 3-4-3, 5-2-3 clearly isn’t working. 4-2-3-1 cannot be ruled out either.
Possible Dons XI: 3-4-3
Jamie Cumming;Daniel Oyegoke, Warren O’Hora, Dean Lewington;Henry Lawrence, Josh McEachran, Matt Smith, Daniel Harvie;Josh Kayode, Will Grigg, Louie Barry.

How Argyle could line-up?
3-5-2 wingback is something Steve Schumacher has previously gone with in games. Lately he has used a 3-4-2-1 system, which has seen relatively decent success this season.
Possible Argyle XI: 3-4-2-1
Cooper;Wilson, Lonwijk, Galloway;Edwards, Houghton, Butcher, Mumba;Whittaker, Ennis;Cosgrove.

One’s to watch:
Josh Kayode – Dons: The on-loan Rotherham man is due a stellar game. The fans are yet to see the best of Josh, and Plymouth mat present him with space to express himself in this game.
Joe Edwards – Argyle: right midfielder/ winger Edwards is an all-round threat to this Dons team. The last few times that Joe has faced the Dons he has put in some good displays, could exploit some weaknesses on the left side of defence today.

Score Prediction:
The Dons 1 Plymouth Argyle 2

Rarely do I predict a defeat, but today is the day I do just that. This team of ours is devoid of confidence right now, while Plymouth are high on it.
Goal Scorer? Josh Kayode to grab his first goal for the club.
