It’s a trip to the Black Country for the Dons on Saturday and a clash with Salop’s finest Shrewsbury Town and it’s anybody’s guess which Dons team will turn up.
One thing we can be sure about is the man in the middle which is Andy Woolmer from Northants who will no doubt be following the same route as us, up the M6, and then cutting along the M54, then picking up the A5 into Shrewsbury.
Woolmer oversaw 31 games last season which seems to be the average tally for an EFL ref over a season. In that time, he booked 100 players converting none to a double yellow, in addition he sent just one player off and awarded 3 penalties.
It’s not been that long since we last saw Mr Woolmer as he officiated over the memorable League Cup win over Watford on August 23rd of this season, Matt Dennis (44’) and Darragh Burns (53’) with our goals.
This season he has had just 8 games to contend with booking 31 players, 1 double yellow, 0 reds, and awarded just 1 penalty.
He will be assisted by Matt Jones and Mark Stevens on the flags, with Darren Handley as the 4th Official.
