Away to Fleetwood on a Tuesday night is getting to be a regular thing for some reason or another and is a huge commitment of time and money for any fan that makes the journey, so well done to everyone that makes the trip, and indeed has in the past.
We might need a friendly face or a ref that seems to be in charge when we get that rub of the green, so tonight we might be disappointed to know that Chris Sarginson from Staffordshire is in the middle, and it may awaken your memory enough to realise that “Sarg” was last in charge of us when we were schooled 3-0 at home to Rotherham, and guess who was the only Dons booking….yes it was Big Bad Dave….again.
He has reffed 24 games this season dishing out 78 yellow cards, 1 double yellow offence, 2 straight reds, and in addition awarded 4 penalties.
Mr Sarginson is also one of the lucky few refs to have been allocated the Dons derby game, and that back in October 2020 when we drew 1-1 at home. On that day Joe Piggott got AFC in front on 10 minutes, and Scott Fraser levelled just 3 minutes later.
Mr Sarginson will be assisted by Conor Brown, and Matt Perry on the flags with Ross Joyce as the 4th Official.
