As you probably all realise by now, we don’t run our normal match coverage for the Pizza Cup games, maybe if we progress a bit further, we may change our focus.
It’s pointless trying to speculate on team news, as even with the rules and regulations of the competition teams are likely to be much different from those that turned out on Saturday, so there will be no Big Match Preview from Jon, or a Trash Talk from an Orient fan.
If you are thinking of going to the game, we have compiled a few tips on how best to make it into London and get to the game…check out our Ground Guide, but we acknowledge it’s going to be difficult as there is no official travel laid on.
What is guaranteed is the allocated referee for the game who is Craig Hicks from Surrey.
Mr Hicks has been reffing for 20 years and has so far taken control of 15 games this season. This season he has booked 43 players, 1 of which he converted to a double yellow offence, in addition he has sent 1 player off with a straight red and awarded 2 penalties.
The last time Mr Hicks took charge of one of our games was back in January 2021 in the same cup away at Sixfields against Northampton Town. We won the game 2-0 with a brace from Stephen Walker and progressed to the Quarter Final stage of the competition. Incredibly just two players remain at the club from the starting line-up that night, Daniel Harvie & Dean Lewington.
Assisting Mr Hicks on the flags will be Stephen Finch and Kevin Howick, with Andrew Aylott covering the 4th Official duties.
