A midweek trip to League 2 strugglers Stevenage Borough and the Lamex Stadium on Tuesday night and a replay of our 2-2 draw in the 1st Round of the FA Cup. Waiting in the wings are non-league Yeovil Town as they will take on the winners in front of the BBC cameras in Round 2.
The man tasked with the game and of course the possible Extra Time and Penalties is Alan Young from Cambridgeshire.
Mr Young appears to have been out of the game a bit this season with just 4 games under his control, but we suppose he could have been on other duties such as running the line or on 4th Official duties.
Out of those 4 games, he has dished out 17 yellow cards and awarded 2 penalties, with no red card decisions.
Strangely the last time we saw Mr Young was also in the FA Cup back in November 2020, where we edged out Eastleigh 4-3 in the penalty shoot-out after it was 0-0 in regular and extra time. Based on that who missed from the spot for us in the shoot-out?…….Answer at the bottom of the page.
Assisting Mr Young on the flags will be Daniel Bonneywell and Adrian Tranter, with Christopher Kidd taking care of the 4th Official duties.
Back to that question, Regan Poole, Carlton Morris, Stephen Walker, and Scott Fraser all converted their spot kicks, Ben Gladwin was the man to miss.
