GROUND GUIDE STEVENAGE

A midweek FA Cup 1st Round Replay awaits the Dons on Tuesday night and the 32-mile trip to the Lamex Stadium, Stevenage.

It was a 2-2 draw at Stadium MK, but on Tuesday night the game must be decided and that could mean extra time and penalties. The prize waiting is a 2nd Round tie away to Non-League Yeovil Town in front of the TV cameras.

The Lamex is a 7,318-capacity stadium with almost 6,300 seated.

We should be seated in the South Stand which has a capacity of around 1,400, but with ticket sales likely to be very poor owing to a midweek fixture against lower league opposition and an adult ticket price of £22, the uptake will be possibly low and seats aplenty.

The usual football nosebag will be on sale, it’s a bit pricey here, but the quality is a bit better than average, checkout the “Boro Burger” if you get a chance, double burger, bacon and cheese, it’s a Whopper in disguise really and priced accordingly at £5-50.

There is not much in the local vicinity in terms of pubs so with the expected low turnout we imagine Dons fans will be allowed access to the Club House Bar.

If you are making your own way to the Lamex then there is a large car park near the ground called Fairlands Valley. It’s free to park and has a capacity of around five hundred cars. The car park though has only one entrance/exit, so delays are possible after the game.

Do not attempt to park at the Roaring Meg Retail Park as you are only allowed to park there for 90 minutes and you will be ticketed, with wardens always on the lookout, there is though street parking close to the ground but watch out for “Resident Only “restrictions.

We doubt anybody will be making their way by train, but just in case the station is about a mile from the ground but a shuttle bus will be in operation for about £2 return.
