I can’t recall the “Battle for Bucks” ever being a game where the emotion or rivalry has got the better of any player, and it probably means more to the fans than the players.
Just in case things do boil over Scott Oldham from Lancashire has been tasked to sort it out. He has been on the whistle for 9 games this season, handing out 19 yellow cards, 0 yellow/red card offences, 1 straight red, and 1 penalty. Last season he averaged 2.3 yellow cards per game, he never sent off one single player, and in addition he awarded a penalty on average once in every 10 games.
The last time we saw Mr Oldham was in April of this year when we demolished Swindon 5-0 at SMK. Just in case you want a memory jog the win sent Swindon down into League 2 and featured a record-breaking haul of 4 goals for Will Grigg scored in the 16th minute, 45’+2’, 46’, and 49’, with the other goal coming from Scott Fraser from the penalty spot in the 26’ minute.
Assisting Mr Oldham will be Dean Treleaven, and Richard Morris, with Tony Da Costa as 4th Official.
