First Impressions of the stadium, parking, ease of entry. | 4 | The trip to Gillingham isn’t one that I enjoy. The coach has to park at the station car park and passengers have a ten-minute walk to the stadium. We couldn’t get any closer to the ground to allow our wheelchair passenger to gain easier access and the roads and paths around the ground are narrow and congested. Gillingham still has the temporary but long-standing roofless Brian Moore stand for away fans. It’s amazing how this awful construction passes a safety inspection. We had a choice of tickets in the Brian Moore, which was designated as standing and located behind the goal, or seats in the end of the adjacent Gordon Road stand. Fortunately, the weather was good and there was no requirement for rain ponchos for those in the Brain Moore.
Food & Drink, range, quality, price. | 6 | There was a very long queue at the kiosk where service was slow. Usual food, drink, and prices. I’m told the lager wasn’t up to much. The kiosk is behind the Brian Moore stand in an open area and so again it was good to have decent weather.
View from your seat, any poles in the way, obstructed view, seat broken? | 6 | Those in the Brian Moore stand were directly behind a goal with an unobstructed view. They had plenty of room to find their own space. Some broken seats. The Gordon Road stand has several pillars which obstruct the view of play but there were sufficient spare seats to allow for adjustment.
Home team support, was it a library, good banter between the fans? | 5 | Home fans were a hostile whinging group. There was minimal banter with them preferring to aim abuse at our players.
What were the stewards like, helpful and friendly or jobsworths? | 6 | I saw little engagement with them. They got involved when supporters in the BM stand were celebrating our two second half goals with one supporter being escorted out.
Toilet facilities, clean and well equipped with hot water, disgusting. | 8 | he facilities are dated but they were clean, warm water, hand dryers & no queues.
Ticket pricing, did the price reflect the facilities of the ground? | 8 | £22 for an adult in the Gordon Road stand and I believe less in BM stand.
Ground facilities, half time service, did they let fans outside at halftime? | 5 | There was no halftime entertainment. Fans were allowed to smoke in a corner of the open concourse. Facilities were adequate.
Match atmosphere, did the Dons fans give good support? | 7 | Dons’ fans did their best to make noise but this was hindered by the two groups being separated, no roof on the BM stand and the drum not being allowed in the ground.
Ease of exit, did the carpark clear quickly, traffic around the stadium? | 6 | The return long walk back to the coach was slightly more enjoyable due to the 4-1 win. It took a while to fight our way through the heavy traffic before reaching the open road.
