FA CUP REF WATCH

It’s the 1st Round Proper of the FA Cup and we take a sneaky peek to see who the FA have lined up for us in our clash with National League team Eastleigh Spitfires. Thankfully, we are on the BBC s so we can keep an eye on Alan Young from Cambridgeshire (pictured below) and see if he gets caught up in the magic of the FA Cup.

From what we can tell the last time the stars aligned, and Mr Young officiated one of our games was back in the 2018/19 season with our fixture with Port Vale on April 22nd 2019 that ended up all square 1-1 at Stadium MK.

On that day Kieran Agard missed a penalty before Vale took the lead through Tom Conlan in the 48th minute, David Wheeler restoring parity just 4 minutes later after being set up by Jake Hesketh.

For the record Mt Young booked three players that day, all of the Vale players. The result left the Dons 4th in the League 2 table with just two games left of the season.

So far this season Mr Young has been in the middle of the park on 7 occasions, issued 24 yellow cards, 0 red cards and given 0 penalties. Ref Young is assisted, and we use that term loosely, by Mark Derrien and Justin Amey on the flags, and John Flynn as 4th Official.
