The 10,153 all seater Mornflake Stadium (SAT NAV – CW2 6EB), which is probably better known as Gresty Road and is a 127-mile trip from Stadium MK, which equates to about 2 hours 20 minutes by road.
Away fans are housed in the superbly named Whitby Morrison Ice Cream Van Stand which holds 1,680 fans. Admission is by ticket only, so day trippers will have to purchase their tickets at ticket booth next to the supporter’s club.
All the usual football ground fayre is available including the locally named “Alex Whopper”, or a double cheeseburger to you and me. Failing that check out the chippy just across the road of the away end, its been a couple of years since we have darkened their doorstep and its changed hands since but hopefully it will be up to its usual superb standards.
Alcohol is not available at the ground so if you are looking for a pre-match pint, you can see if they will let you in the supporter’s club, this is very much dependant on numbers, otherwise you can check out the nearby Corner Bar at the Royal Hotel, failing that the Cheshire Inn and the Brunswick both welcome away fans.
Parking is a bit meagre at Crewe and it is all the “On Street Parking” variety, there are a few independent carparks charging around £5 per car or you can try the Pay & Display near the ground, it costs about £3-50 but it is generally filled very early.
By train it is a piece of a cake and it is just a few minutes’ walk from the station, turn left out of the station, then left down Gresty Road.
