I can just and so recall this one at our place earlier in the season, they were awarded a highly debateable penalty courtesy of the overweight Brett Huxtable who was in no position to make the call. A combination of Lewington and Cargill making the challenge with Cargill clearly winning the ball. I think if my memory serves well, our equaliser came from Joe Mason who looked miles offside, so you could argue it evened itself out. The stats show we of course had large amounts of possession and I can’t see this one being much different. Lincoln bossed the league for weeks and months but just lately they have had a dip in form that has seen them looking nervously over their shoulders.
This game was scheduled to be played on Good Friday but because of positive Covid results in the Lincoln camp it was called off, what sort of impact that is going to have on the Lincoln side remains to be seen, and they also had a number of key injuries……again, we will see.One little stat to note is that Lincoln have lost 11 games this season, 8 of those at home.

THE MANAGER – Michael Antony Appleton born in Salford; Manchester aged 45.
His youth days were served at none other than Manchester Utd, but he never made the first team, and neither did he during a subsequent loan at Wimbledon. He made appearances at Lincoln City, Grimsby Town, Preston North End and West Brom before a two-year battle with injuries forced him to retire. In total in midfield he made just 194 appearances scoring 15 goals.
As a result of that forced retirement West Brom and Appleton sued the surgeon who was deemed to have ended through negligence his career. Appleton’s case was successful, and he was awarded £1.5m.
His first taste of management came in 2011 when he was thrown into the hot seat as Caretaker Manager at West Brom. In his career he has also managed Portsmouth, Blackpool, Blackburn Rovers, Oxford United, a spell as Caretaker at Leicester City before taking over at Lincoln in September 2019 on a five-year deal.His management stats are just above average at GAMES 333, WON 132, DRAWN 90 and LOST 111, giving him a healthy 39.6% WIN RATIO.
