TRASH TALK 2 – IPSWICH TOWN

As the League 1 leaders are coming to town, we thought we would have a double helping of Trash Talk this week, and we are grateful to TTT for finding us another Tractor Boys fan to put under the spotlight, and for this second edition of Trash Talk Tom puts 24 year old Jack Prentice under the spotlight (no that’s not him on the tractor).

Tell us an interesting fact about Ipswich Town.

Ipswich Town are the only club to remain unbeaten at home in Europe, the run includes Lazio, Inter Milan, and Barcelona.

Who is the impact player for Ipswich Town?

Andre Dozzell.

Who do you think will be your breakthrough player this season? We’re lucky in that we have a lot of good academy players coming through. Dozzell has made a good start to the season, Flynn Downes is the subject of interest from Crystal Palace, while centre-back Luke Woolfenden was linked with Sheffield United until he signed a new contract here. Teddy Bishop is an academy graduate, Jack Lankester is also a really exciting prospect.

What playing style can we expect from Ipswich?

Before the season it was hard to decipher as last season there was no obvious plan, this season we’re playing through the lines, on the ground and playing well.

Where do you see your team finishing?

Top 6.

You’ve had a superb start to the season, have you re-evaluated?

No, I thought we should be towards the top end of the table at the start of the season. As a club, we were going to be one of the clubs in League One least affected by the pandemic.

Who concerns you in the MK Dons side? Carlton Morris is an effective operator at League One level, and as a Norwich striker there’s always the fear he may score against us.

Carlton Morris, an effective operator?

Where do you see the MK Dons finishing this season?

I see MK Dons finishing mid-table. They were in trouble when Russell Martin took over last season, and MK Dons were starting to look safe before the season was ended early.

What’s your prediction for the game?

MK Dons 0-2 Ipswich Town

Who is your tip for the League 1 title?

Difficult to answer as to who is most likely to win the league as none of the teams that came down from the Championship came down in good shape. You’d think Hull might be the best placed of that bunch, and we, Peterborough and Sunderland are the obvious names to place further up the table. I’ve not been at all impressed with Portsmouth who were one of the pre-season favourites.

EDITORMany thanks to Jack for taking part, I have to say Tractor Boys fans love telling everyone they are undefeated at home in Europe, and I guess we can’t blame them, who wouldn’t shout it from the roof tops.

See you next week.
