We wake this morning not only to welcome in a new season but also new owners.
After 20 years, our founding Chairman Pete Winkelman has sold the club. This move has come as quite a surprise to many simply because we never imagined a day without Pete.
It’s been a rollercoaster ride and for those that have been here since day one it’s going to be a very mixed and emotional day.
Pete has always said if the right person comes along with a proveable track record he would sell. So over the last 12 months he has got to know Fahad Al Ghanim a businessman representing a consortium from Kuwait.
Mr Al Ghanim has a residence in the area, has been a box holder for a season and he has sanctioned transfers, the first through the door at 8pm last night.
So we welcome Fahad and his team to Milton Keynes and look forward to working with them over the coming seasons.
Lastly, with a heavy heart and tears in our eyes, we say a massive thank you to Pete, Bernie, and Bobby Winkelman for the last 20 years. You’ve given us memories and stories and the foundation to build upon.
