International Women’s Day

International Women’s Day (IWD) is a global celebration of the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. IWD provides an opportunity to understand, learn and celebrate gender equality.

Marked annually on March 8th, IWD is one of the most important days of the year to:

• celebrate women’s achievements
• educate and awareness raise about women’s equality
• call for positive change advancing women
• lobby for accelerated gender parity
• fundraise for women-focused charities

We can all do our bit to promote gender equality, and we have in recent times been fortunate to have our first female Vice Chair of the MKDSA Amanda alongside our disability officer Jo. We are immensely proud of the work they do.
So to all of our Women’s teams, club employees, and supporters, this day is for you, and we celebrate your achievements and stand united against gender discrimination.
