Ryan’s Referee Review Salford

What a bounce back from Saturday. We find ourselves 2 points off automatic promotion, which is encouraging. It was great to see Matt Dennis on the scoresheet, making his first start since returning from injury. We are looking forward to playing against Salford on Saturday, with the return of Karl Robinson.

This leads me to our referee for Saturday’s game, Dean Whitestone.

Whitestone has been an EFL referee since the 2005/06 season, officiating only 8 games that season. However, this season he has refereed 21 games, issuing 78 yellow cards and 3 straight red cards.

Whitestone has officiated 14 matches for MK Dons. The first time he was our referee was against 10-man Peterborough, where we lost 4-0. The last time he officiated for us was against Accrington Stanley in the 2020/2021 season, where we won 3-2 with goals from Matt O’Riley and Cameron Jerome.

Whitestone has officiated 2 matches for Salford United . The first time he was there referee was Southend, it finshed 0-0. The last time he officiated for them was Bristol Rovers, Salford lost 1-0.

His assistant referees are Andrew Dallison and Ian Cooper and his Fourth Official Robert Massey-Ellis

Let’s hope this referee give us a penalty as we are still without on this season.
