Ryan’s Ref Review Mansfield

The game on Saturday wasn’t a pretty one, but you win some, and you lose some, so we move on to Tuesday to preview the match officials!

Our referee for the Mansfield game is LEE SWABEY, who became an EFL referee in the 2015/16 season. So far this season, SWABEY has issued 87 yellow cards, 2 of which resulted in red cards, Alongside this, he has handed out 2 straight red cards and  has also awarded 4 penalties.

He has officiated 8 MK Dons games in his career  and the first time he was our referee was in an EFL Trophy game against Yeovil Town, which we lost 4-1. He sent off Samir Carruthers with 2 yellow cards. The last time he was our referee was again in an EFL Trophy game against Cheltenham Town, where we lost 2-1, with Zak Jules scoring our goal.

He has also officiated Mansfield 6 times, the first of which being a League 2 game against Stevenage FC, which they won 2-0. The last time he was their referee was in a League 2 game against Swindon Town, where they lost 2-1. Dan Kemp started for Swindon that day and set up one of Jake Young’s goal.

LEE SWABEY’s assistant referees are Stephen Wade and Danny Guest, and the Fourth Official is Richard Wigglesworth.

Let’s hope this ref does not hand out as many yellow cards as the one at the weekend did
