The game we have been waiting for. The team in Wales, with Hollywood royalty (Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney). Last time we played them, we scored five goals thanks to Mo Eisa, Jonathan Leko, and Daniel Harvie.
This brings me to the man in charge of the game, Sam Purkiss. He has issued 106 yellow cards, two of which resulted in red cards, and has also awarded seven red cards and nine penalties. We are still one of the teams in the league that has not received a penalty. He became an EFL referee in the 2019/2020 season.
He has officiated our matches six times. He was already our referee this season for the EFL Trophy game between MK Dons and Northampton, which we won 3-2 thanks to Burns, Devoy, and Waller.
He has never refereed a Wrexham match before. This will be the first time he meets the Hollywood royalty.
His assistant referees are Daniel D’Urso and Mark Jones, and the Fourth Official is Richard Eley.
