Accessibility at Morecambe – MKDSA – Milton Keynes Dons Supporters Association.

Accessibility at Morecambe

This preview is based on our two previous visits to Mazuma Stadium, the review we wrote after our visit last year, and an Away Supporter’s Guide on Morecombe FC’s website at:
https://www.morecambefc.com/siteassets/news/pdfs/asg-oct-2023.pdf

The stadium is a bit like a mini Stadium MK with a wrap-around car park. The away end entrance is on the right at the front of the Stadium and the official coaches drop-off and pick up near to the away entrance.

Official Away Travel
Accessible coach travel leaving Stadium MK at 8.15 am is £30pp.

At the time of writing, there are wheelchair spaces available, but you need to book asap or email travelmkdsa@gmail.com to reserve, as depending on numbers, these spaces may be withdrawn nearer to the match day.

Blue Badge Parking
3 spaces available for away fans at £10 per vehicle, bookable on a first come, first served basis.

To book ring Morecombe’s Club Shop on 01524 411797 Ext 3. Anya Wood, Morecombe’s Support Liaison Officer is also available on this number should you have specific enquiries.

Seating Areas
Those requiring easy access seating are advised to get seats on Row A. There is a recessed area for 3 wheelchairs at the front of the away seating area. (More than 3 away wheelchair users and the only other spaces are in front of home fans, although last time we managed to squeeze in 3 wheelchairs and a scooter with companions.)

This area is at pitch level, and there is little space between it and the barriers to the pitch, so if fans surge forward, wheelchair users are at risk of being overwhelmed. At the last game, stewards also blocked our view despite our repeated requests for them not to, so in this respect, not the best facilities for wheelchair users. The area is covered, but we reckon you would get wet if it is raining, and Morecombe in December will be cold, so make sure you have all you need to stay warm and waterproofs.

Food & Drink
Reports are that the pies are good (quality and value) at the stadium (prices are in the guide above) and there is a modern pub, The Hurley Flyer, on the main road opposite the entrance to the Stadium which we understand welcomes away fans and says on its website it is accessible.
