Donny and Mooie Trophy Crewe Alexandra

Groundhopper is really taking a dislike to games against teams in red and white whose name begins with the letter C. Both have ended with defeats but here’s what the travel supremo thought about the Mornflake Stadium.

Crewe Alexandra

First Impressions of the stadium, parking, ease of entry.9A decent drive, just over two hours, with a stop at Keele, fust twenty minutes from the ground. As far as parking goes it doesn’t get too much better than being dropped right outside the ground. Only had to cross the road, bus picked us up on the other side so didnt have as far to walk to get back on,
Food & Drink, range, quality, price.5Standard fare on offer burgers pies and sausage rolls etc. It did seem a little high for the “north” and the cheeseburgers looked a bit bland and the meat and potato pie was a tad dry.
View from your seat, any poles in the way, obstructed view, seat broken?6Side on view in a shallow stand and a low roof. It was a bit tight in terms of seat space, seats were flimsy but leg room was decent.
Home team support, was it a library, good banter between the fans?5Crewe forgot they were allowed to make any noise, very little out of them in the first half and not until they scored did they make anything that got a response. Banter started from they when they were 2-1 up.
What were the stewards like, helpful and friendly or jobsworths?6Entry to the ground was quite easy, show of ticket at barrier one, a security check and then in through a turnstile. Very few stewards on show didn’t see any problems
Toilet facilities, clean and well equipped with hot water, disgusting.8Good facilities, that were reasonably clean. Only had cold water, hand dryer was decent.
Ticket pricing, did the price reflect the facilities of the ground?5Way to expensive at £27 for an adult for League Two. Its probably a couple of quid too high. Saving grace is its a good away day.
Ground facilities, half time service, did they let fans outside at halftime?7They weren’t the quickest even though there was an army of money takers, preppers and carriers. No complaints from the smokers/vapers as the area behind the stand was freely being used.
Match atmosphere, did the Dons fans give good support?6We performed like the team, decent in the first half and we slipped away as it went on after half time. 505 Dons at the game.
Ease of exit, did the carpark clear quickly, traffic around the stadium?6The attendance was 3,927 and getting out took was quite simple, coaches were right by the away stand and pointing in the right direction.
Any other observations or comments that may have affected your scoring?
