Accessibility at Crewe – MKDSA – Milton Keynes Dons Supporters Association.

Accessibility at Crewe

As we have not been to Crewe for a bit and haven’t been able to find much up to date info, this is as good as we can provide for the Mornflake Stadium.

Blue Badge Parking
Contact Crewe’s DLA to clarify arrangements (contact details below). Based on our memory there is BB parking for away fans in a small car park at the away end (immediately off the road). It is the car park nearest to the railway station and not the main large car park at the front of the stadium.

Official Away Travel
Will include wheelchair accessible travel but needs booking quickly as places will sell out. Can be booked online at https://mkdsa.org.uk/book-away-travel/ or in the Box Office. Queries/further details email travelmkdsa@gmail.com The away coaches drop off on the road, adjacent to the away car park giving level access on to the away end on firm surfaces.

Wheelchair Spaces
Located in the away stand, but at the far end of the stand, completely separate from the rest of the away fans. As the away end fills from the opposite end it can be an isolating experience. To enter the wheelchair area you need to go to the far end, with the away car park on your left and the ground on your right. (If you can see what looks like the stadium’s main entrance, you are in the wrong place.) You are undercover, elevated from the pitch with a good view. Companion seats were freestanding chairs, so flexible to sit as you wish. Room for around 6 wheelchair users.

Easy Access Seating
Difficult for us to comment on this given we have never been in the main part of the away end. Impression from what we have read is that stewards will assist fans securing seating at the end of rows/where there are least steps.

Accessible Toilets/Concessions
Sorry for the same reason, no idea of provisions in the main part of the away stand. Toilet provision for wheelchair users is in the adjacent stand which is a home stand but has often been empty or with very few in it. On the left, half way along stand (past the tea bar that always closes after half time). Loo door was always very swollen, so difficult to shut.

Audio Match Commentary
Available, provided by local hospital radio. Contact DLO to book, details below.

Fans’ Bar
Between the main entrance to the away stand and the away wheelchair entrance is a fans’ bar which welcomes away fans and is accessible. Large room with lots of space.
