EFL Release Schedule on Thursday

Thursday is a very big EFL Day and it kick starts the season and gives fans loads to dream about, plans can be made and it all becomes a big more real. The new campaign is within touching distance …you can almost taste it again.

So how will Thursday happen you ask?

9am the fixtures get released. We know our opponents, this is the order we actually play them.

11.30 and its Trophy time. As yet there is no confirmed sponsor of the competition. The 48 League One and Two sides are joined by 16 Premier League U21 sides. The draw is regionalised and we are likely to be in a South Eastern Group of 3 EFL sides and 1 U21 sides. The Premier League youngsters play all three games away and we will play 2 home and one away.

At 2.30pm its the draw for Round 1 of the EFL Cup (League Cup). This is an unseeded draw, so literally, we could be drawn against any of the other 71 EFL clubs home or away. The second round will include the 12 Premier League sides not playing in Europe, the remaining eight sides join in round three when the draws are made in due course.
