Two Cities Remain in League Two

The Dons now know Two more of the sides they will face in League Two next season.

In the early game yesterday the all Greater Manchester tie went all the way to penalties. After 180 minutes of game time and a further 30 minutes of extra, they just couldn’t be separated at 2-2 on aggregate.

The dreaded penalty shoot out was Salfords downfall. They missed their first two, and Stockport won it 3-1.

In the afternoon, Carlisle triumphed 3-1 on the day and 3-2 overall.

Carlisle levelled the tie in the first half and it was the tight game we all thought it would be, going to extra time.

Bradford went behind for the first time in the play-off game midway through the first period. They pulled the tie level again as the second period started.

Then, with the third goal in just fourteen minutes of play, Carlisle got the winner and now face Stockport at Wembley next Sunday.

So the Dons now wait to discover their final opponents. Stockport or Carlisle
