First Impressions of the stadium, parking, ease of entry. 8Highbury Stadium is located in a predominantly residential area with a capacity of 5,327. There are four stands, two of which are terraces. The coach dropped passengers off in a nearby street. There’s on street parking for those travelling by car. Away fans are welcomed in Jim’s bar where there was hot food available and all reasonably priced.
Food & Drink, range, quality, price. 7The kiosk served pies, hot dogs, loaded hot dogs and nachos, hot & cold drinks & alcohol. Prices were very reasonable.
View from your seat, any poles in the way, obstructed view, seat broken? 8The away terracing wasn’t open for this visit and so we were located at one end of the Parkside stand which is relatively close to the pitch with a good, unobstructed view.
Home team support, was it a library, good banter between the fans? 6The attendance for this fixture was 3,258. The main home support was located on terracing behind the goal furthest from us but they were rarely heard.
What were the stewards like, helpful and friendly or jobsworths? 8 The stewards I encountered on the gate and in the ground were friendly & helpful.
Toilet facilities, clean and well equipped with hot water, disgusting. 8The toilet blocks were clean and well maintained. There was hot water.
Ticket pricing, did the price reflect the facilities of the ground? 7An adult ticket was £24, the same price charged last season.
Ground facilities, half time service, did they let fans outside at halftime? 8 As previously stated away fans were allowed access to Jim’s bar. The concourse area is located under the stand and provides shelter from the elements. Fans were allowed out to smoke.
Match atmosphere, did the Dons fans give good support? 7I’ve been unable to establish how many Dons fans were in attendance but they made plenty of noise with the aid of the drum. There wasn’t much banter coming from the home fans
Ease of exit, did the carpark clear quickly, traffic around the stadium? 9
Exit from the ground was very easy with minimal congestion in the surrounding area.
