On The Flip Side Portsmouth – MKDSA – Milton Keynes Dons Supporters Association.

On The Flip Side Portsmouth

We caught up with Max Gray the Pompey supporting son of former MKDSA Chair Aiden Gray, who jumped at the chance to answer our questions.

With the current score being 1 win each between The Dons and Pompey the “decider” makes this Father Son battle rather high stakes in the bragging rights department.

Tell us about your January transfer window business. Any in or out?

Out: Josh Koroma and Josh Griffiths back to their parent clubs.

In: Paddy Lane , Di’shon Bernard (loan), Ryley Towler , Matt Macey (loan)

Has it been good business? Are the fans generally happy with any comings and goings?

I think it was very good business bringing in Paddy Lane, as he won league one young player of the year last season, so it’s a very exciting signing.

The vast of the majority of fans have been very pleased with the signings, but not all are happy & felt we should of done more to challenge the top six.

Your thoughts on the redevelopments at FP?

It’s been brilliant & high time on our 125th anniversary this year too! What the club are doing to the ground has given it a freshen up better views & even some safe standing. They’re not finished yet so I look forward to seeing what’s next.

Are your 23/24 ST prices out, what are they like and what have the fans said about them?

They are not out just yet but rumours are they will be staying simular to this season which on balance is pretty fair given they froze them after covid & with the cost of living crisis, I’m sure they will do what they can to help the fans out.
They’ve been 389 Adult, 255 young adult 18-22, 295 senior, junior 11-17 90, Kid 2-10 23, wheelchair user 209 plus a few other categories too.

Your thoughts on your form in since we last met?

With the appointment of John Mousinho after the departure of the Cowleys, there is belief in the club once again and I think you are in for a real challenge on Saturday. That said you seem to be are bogey team so I may be wrong!

Can you get that 6th place to make the playoffs?

As it stands we are 3pts off a playoff spot so the fight is not over yet.

Overall thoughts on the season?

It started off really well, then there was a dip around Christmas time with the Cowleys in charge, and then with the appointment of John Mousinho things have started to pick up again, so a mixed bag given we were hoping to be pushing the top 6.
It’s not over yet. Anything less than playoffs before the season would of been seen as a massive disappointment so the fact with a change of gaffer we are still in and around them is an achievement in itself.

Who will go up Auto and via Wembley?

Auto: Sheff Wednesday and Plymouth

Wembley: Portsmouth (Here’s hoping!) if we don’t make it though most likely Barnsley who have looked good of late.

Who is going down in your opinion?

Accrington, Morecambe, Cambridge and FGR.
I think Dons have done enough to get out of it and baring a nightmare should be safe.

Dangers players in your team to look out for on Friday?

Colby Bishop who is scoring for fun this season (I know my Dad still gets frustrated with that one as there was talk he was singing for Dons at one point, but he chose the better team ;)), Tom Lowery and Paddy Lane.

Score prediction please Max

Seeing as we usually have a tough game against you lot I will say 3-1 Pompey.

Enjoy your day out at the bigger ground Max but obviously we’re on Dad’s side Come on You Dons.
