Due to the questioner and the interviewee both being in Naples for Englands UEFA Nations Qualifier this week its a late one for the editor.
So it’s a big thanks to Micky from Morecambe who makes a welcome return appearance to complete our latest questions.
In the latest edition of On the Flip Side, I spoke Morecambe fan Mickey (mickeymfc) on twitter to discuss the key crunch match at Stadium MK.
It’s been a tough season so far for both our sides, how do you think the season has panned out for the Shrimps?
Not the greatest of seasons for us, with only one league win away from home throughout the whole season. But hopefully we can push through these last 7 fixtures.
Morecambe currently on a run with just 1 win in their last 10 games, what do you think is the cause of this?
A lot of factors contribute to this, personally. It’s just not been our season so far. A run of bad performances, decisions not going our way etc.
It’s hard to point a finger on the exact cause.
Do you think Morecambe can avoid the drop back to League 2?
If we manage to string a couple of results and good performances together, then I’d like to think so. But at the minute I’m not very confident.
Who should the Dons look out for when the sides meet at Stadium MK?
Connor Ripley has been fantastic for us in net this season, pulling off some class saves. So I’d like to think that he’d be one to look out for.
Another one is Adam Mayor, he’s put in some great performances throughout the year
How do you think your side will approach the game, baring in mind the importance for both sides to get the win?
Hopefully with an attacking mentality as we really need the win tomorrow.
Dons are in a similar position as the Shrimps, are you surprised still that they are where they are, baring in mind they were chasing promotion this time last year?
Yes I am quite surprised. Giving that they have been in the play-offs a number of times. But then saying that, they’ve been in League 2 before so could well and truly go down.
Will Morecambe fans be coming down to Milton Keynes in large numbers, again, baring in mind the importance of the tie?
With our recent form, I doubt it! But with it being a both fixture for both sides who knows.
Will you be heading to the game yourself as I know you’re in Naples with England, like myself?
Yes I will be doing! As I’m writing this I’m on my way back from Naples Via Milan, getting the supporters bus down to Milton Keynes tomorrow, then staying down there and getting the train to Wembley for Sundays fixture against Ukraine.
As always, thanks for taking part, it’s hugely appreciated Finally, what do you think the final score will be at Stadium MK?
0-1 Morecambe hopefully.
Thanks Micky you got some miles under your belt this last week or so.
