The Dons come away with all three points in a real determined and resolute performance. All of Rovers pre-match jibing including an awful kick off tweet about delaying kick-off ultimately back fired.
Pre-match talk was albout potential defensive changes but Stewart is still serving a ban.
The Dons finally scored early in a league game with Mo Eisa’s penalty on hust three minutes after being brought down in the box himself.
The Dons then immediately came under wave after wave of Rovers attempts to break them down and find a route to goal. Time and time again the Dons stood tall to man and by hook or by crook cleared their lines.
Stand out first half performances from skipper McEachran and Johnathan Leko as we looked to hit Rovers on the break. Leko came in for some real punishment as he tore the Rovers left side apart with tricks and turns.
Half Time 0-1
The second half was much of the same as the first with neither side pulling out of challenges, with the refs book being far busier than both keepers. The tackles and challenges kept flying and the Dons game management was superb, we’ve seen teams do it to us week in week out. We saw it and we liked it,
The game was getting more and more edgy as we rolled nearer to full time and right at the death with Rovers pushing forward the Dons broke Eisa danced on the edge of the rights side of the box beat his man, he found Dean who looked to have had a too heavy touch but he fired in the bottom left corner right in front of the Dons fans who went wild as the points were safely put in Jacko’s pocket and taken back to Milton Keynes.
Full time 0-2
