By The MKDSA Media Team
It won’t be a suprise to many that have seen it but in the last few weeks the MKDSA pitchside advertising board in front of the media tables in the West Stand was looking the very worst for wear. The club had made a few attempts to revive and restore the 12m board but unfortunately it just didn’t last long. We needed to change things.
Newly elected MKDSA Chair Franco Volpe made it his prioity to resolve the issue and those now inside StadiumMK today may have aleady noticed that its been delivered, and its been done inside nine days of becomming the lead at the MKDSA. Its also been done without any cost to the Association.
The before, during and the after (below)
The change of board inspired a change of the look. We have two ad boards in the Stadium, the other is in the North West corner on the upper advertising level and that remains in good condition with #togetherasone on it.
The MKDSA logo was updated to contain this season’s new MK Dons FC crest, the font was also standardised. The Milton Keynes Dons Supporters Association and the web address www.mkdsa.org.uk are all in the same font as is the association logo.
Franco told us “We had a self emposed deadline of the Lincoln game to get things sorted. We needed to get a new design, manufacturer and installation done.” ” We also had to pay for it”. The MKDSA turned to the club for a bit of guidance and support. Ed Arnold from the Commercial department turned out to be our knight in shining armour.
Bobcat Digital were the company who could help. Rob Blackburn, Managing Director offered the solution. Jack Hollington was the Graphic Designer charged with making it look good. The team have certainly done that as Franco said “I walked in with just two jpegs, one was in need of a bit of work the other was good to go and in less time it took me to drink a coffee while chatting (if you know you know) it was almost done.”
The MKDSA jpeg needed updating, the second jpeg was from Fleetmaster Group, a company based in Ossett, Yorkshire just outside Leeds. They are a company with a hard earned reputation for quality and very high standards of fleet driver training, working with some of the most recognised business names in the country, one of which is based in the City of Milton Keynes.
Fleetmaster Director, Jamie Boocock said “This is our first sponsor partnership outside of Yorkshire. We are working with a Milton Keynes business whose name everyone knows. Our philosphy is all about long term partnerships. The decision to partner with the MKDSA was a simple one for us and we look forward to developing our relationship with MK Dons Supporters Association”
This is a fantastic deal for the MKDSA it leaves us with no finacial liability and is set to benefit us until we no longer have the advertising space.
We cannot thank Ed, Rob, Jack or Jamie enough. They helped pull this off in a very short space of time and we now have pitchside advertising getting the message of who we are: The Milton Keynes Dons Supporters Association
