First Loanee Returned in January 2023 Window

By The MKDSA Media Team

The MK Dons have made their first move in the January 2023 and as anticipated by many the first deal was to send a loanee back to their parent club.

Daniel Oyegoke who joined under Liam Manning at the start of the season has left the club and returned to Brentford. Oyegoke cost Brentford £7m from Arsenal in July 2021 according to www.soccerbase.com so high expectations were placed on the England Youth International.

Daniel made his professional league debut for MK Dons in the opening game of the season, the away day defeat at Cambridge United. He got himself booked in a shakey game for the 19 year old.

His last appearance was in the 4-1 Papa John’s defeat at Bristol Rovers on 13th December which was his 18th in all competitions. He had a good run of games between July and early November as he seemed favoured by Liam Manning.

Daniel’s best game for us was undoubtedly the Carabao Cup win at Vicarage Road Watford when he played in a back 3 with O’Hora and Jules. He had Henry Lawrence as his right wingback and although he was very busy he was solid and many thought he’d turned a corner and would push on.

Returning to playing right wingback rather than right centreback his performances dipped and many supporters lost faith and became extremely frustraited with him and the manager.

We’d like to thank Daniel for his time with us at StadiumMK but ultimately it wasn’t to be, but we wish you good luck in your career.
