In our final installment we find out more about James and what he does for the MKDSA and his plans for total world domination …umm we mean plans for the development of what we have to call his shop.
Why do you do what you do?
I think something has been missing for a while with regards to the fans having something extra on offer. That’s not necessarily down to the club (they have been superb recently) at all. A lot of other clubs have independent sellers on match days. I know Oxford United have a programme shop and Northampton Town have Andy Trasler in his trusty van! Cobblers collectibles if you’re interested.
Also growing up I’d have loved something like the MKDSA Programmes and Shirts Shop to help grow my collection.
It’s clear that it’s wanted by the fans and we are always busy every game! I think it’s important for fans to be able to have the opportunity to purchase items at reasonable prices especially with the cost of living at the moment.
What does the future hold?
I honestly believe that now anything is possible. We have ideas in the pipeline about new stock with shirts and programmes and perhaps some extra items! But really it is about spreading the word that we are here and open.
We don’t ever want to out price the fans which is why you can pick up a replica shirt for as little as £15 and jumper for £20. You look on classic football shirts and you’d be paying maybe even treble that price.
Having said that, we can only run the shirt side if have the donations coming in.
So I pleade with you all, if you do have any old MK Dons shirts at home that don’t fit or you are looking to get rid of, please consider donating them to us. They will find a new, loved home.
We will be here for as long as we are wanted by the fans.
If you’ve got this far into my ramblings, thank you, you’ve nearly made it.
Finally, if you’ve visited us before and have read this I hope you understand the hard work that is put in to offer you something different within the stadium and if you haven’t visited us before, I hope this has tempted you to come up and at least have a little look at what we offer!
Any feedback or ideas on what you’d like to see from MKDSA Programmes and Shirts is always greatly appreciated so feel free to come and chat to me on a match day or email me at archivemkdsa@yahoo.com.
Until the next game,
James
