First Impressions of the stadium, parking, ease of entry.7A mild day on the South Coast, the inside of the stadium has been upgraded in the South & North Stands giving the old ground a much overdue refresh. The Away end is still cramped but work has begun on improving this area also. Parking in Portsmouth is always difficult as they have a number of resident parking zones, but you can find parking in some of the match day parking available near by or street parking if early enough. A Small crowd for this one so entry was fairly swift.
Food & Drink, range, quality, price.8The kiosk still serves an array of food, what impressed was it was all fresh pies home made sausage rolls for a reasonable price, also ginger bread reindeer & some more up market crisps that the usual found at most grounds. A number of different beverages, with clean & welcoming kiosk staff who knew what they were doing. Impressed with this offering & the speed of service.
View from your seat, any poles in the way, obstructed view, seat broken?6With most old grounds, this one is no different cramped seating, with pillars obstructing some of the view. Will wait to see what improvements are brought in with the works underway if we are back next season! Wheelchair users sat in the home end.
Home team support, was it a library, good banter between the fans?7The attendance for this fixture was 8,056 The home fans were vocal in parts of the game & louder than most you encounter on your travels. Although far from 90 mins of the so called Pompey Chimes.
What were the stewards like, helpful and friendly or jobsworths?7The stewards were really friendly & helpful. Happy to let us hang flags out if we so wished & did not intervene with our fans.
Toilet facilities, clean and well equipped with hot water, disgusting.7The toilet blocks were clean & well maintained. Standard facilities.
Ticket pricing, did the price reflect the facilities of the ground?8FA Cup action so the tickets were cheaper than league games. Yes it was reasonable.
Ground facilities, half time service, did they let fans outside at halftime?7The concourse area was behind the stand kiosk queue was not too long waiting time at HT. You are out in the elements on the rear concourse, no option for fans to use for smoking, but advised this is being changed as of the start of next season.
Match atmosphere, did the Dons fans give good support?6There were 203 Dons fans at the match. No drum but several songs were sung by fans, rewarded with a goal to cheer about, even if it was a short lived lead!
Ease of exit, did the carpark clear quickly, traffic around the stadium?8We made a fairly easy exit from the stadium with a fairly easy route out of Portsmouth to the Motorway.
