Our Man in The Middle for the visit of Derby County is James Linington.
He’s from the Isle of Wight so I hope his crossing of The Solent is a calm one when he travels to StadiumMK.
James has been a rather busy chap this season and his usual business is as the referee in The Championship or Premier League as a fourth official. This is his first visit to League One this season.
According to uk.soccerway.com he’s shown: 61 yellows and 2 reds in just 15 games. Hes awarded 3 penalties. He has been the fourth official 10 times.
This week alone he has already done; Sat 5th Blackburn v Huddersfield 3y, and Tues 9th Watford v Reading 5y, the 10th he was fourth official for West Ham v Blackburn before coming to MK1.
We haven’t seen James Linington since our 3-0 defeat away at Bournmouth in the League Cup on 28th August 2018 under Paul Tisdale. Dean Lewington was the only player booked that day.
James Linington is supported by Assistant Referees Robert Hyde and Mark Russell and the Fourth Official is Alan Young.
