900 for Lewi Tomorrow ?

By The MKDSA Media Team

Another game and yet another Milestone achieved for the Dons Legend.

The Legend seems to hit another Milestone more often than theres a new Prime Minister and thats saying something in 2022. But the Dons skipper will hit an amazing 900 career appearances very soon, quite possibly at Cheltenham tomorrow.

His first was at Hillsborough in April 2002 where he made a substitute appearance in the final minute as Wimbldon FC lost 4-2 to Sheffield Wednesday.

Dean has so far out lasted sixteen appointed managers, including the returning Paul Ince. Since The Dons longest serving manager, Karl Robinson, left 6 years and four days ago (at the time of writing) Dean has had eight of them come and go. Keith Millen and Richie Barker were classed as caretakers.

Fans wonder how many additional appearances during his “banishment” under Robbie Neilson ? He was absent from the team for two and a half months

Robbie Neilson has confirmed that Dean Lewington is likely to make a loan move away from Stadium MK in the January Transfer Window.

“Dean has obviously been here a very long time. He signed a two-year deal in the summer and I know that he is committed to the Football Club,” Neilson told the media after Saturday’s Emirates FA Cup victory over Maidstone United.

“We had a chat at the start of the season about what I felt his game time would be. Dean feels he can still play week in, week out here but I don’t feel he can do that at the moment”

“He will likely go on loan in January. We are going to look at that option in the January window and we will be as supportive as we can for him. We will then have a chat in the summer and go from there.”

Neilson was gone on Jan 20th 2018 …Lewi played 7 days later in The FA Cup against Coventry.

Only one manager has failed to select Dean Lewington at least once ..Dean himself !

Captain. Leader. Legend. We love you Lewi
