The man in the middle is officiating at Stadium MK for his first time since his promotion to the League List in November last year. Unusually for a newbie he isn’t a youngster, quite the opposite he’s 39 and he’s been a referee for 11 years and he combines his officiating with a full time fire service role.
Sam Allison is the cousin of former Swindon, Man City and Portsmouth Jamiacan international midfielder Fitzroy Simpon. He was a semi pro player himself and is the first black referee since Uriah Rennie who retired 12 years before he was appointed.
So far this season Sam has attended 5 EFL games 2 in League One and 3 in League Two. All bar one appear to have been very close games, only game has been won by more than 1 goal.
Sam has shown 14 yellows and 2 reds this season and he has only awarded two penalties this season both against the home side (Derby County)
SAM ALLISON is supported by assistant referees Paul Yates and Oliver Bickle. The Fourth Official is Marvyn Amphlett.
