DONNY & MOOIE TROPHY SHREWSBURY TOWN

The Snoop took a peek at the facilities at Shrewsbury and expected a good showing from holders of the Donny & Mooie Trophy and wasn’t disappointed.

Have a look to see how the Salop team rated this season.

First Impressions of the stadium, parking, ease of entry.8Coaches park outside the away end at Montgomery Waters Meadow. Away fans can use the fan zone nearby where food and drink are available whilst listening to live music.
Food & Drink, range, quality, price.9There was a burger van outside and bars in the fan zone. Inside the ground was the standard range of food & drink which was reasonably priced.
View from your seat, any poles in the way, obstructed view, seat broken?9Away fans are located behind the goal in the North Stand with an unobstructed view. Wheelchair users are located in the same stand with the option of using the viewing platform at the rear or at the front by the pitch.
Home team support, was it a library, good banter between the fans?7The attendance for this fixture was 5,875. The home support didn’t make a lot of noise. There’s still two groups of home support, one behind the opposite goal and the second smaller group in the stand to our right. Both had drums and they didn’t always sing in unison.  There wasn’t much banter between home and away support.
What were the stewards like, helpful and friendly or jobsworths?8There were plenty of stewards on duty who were polite and helpful.
Toilet facilities, clean and well equipped with hot water, disgusting.7I’m not a fan of the stainless-steel toilet which are more at home in the cells of a police station. There was hot water for hand washing. Toilets were fairly well maintained.
Ticket pricing, did the price reflect the facilities of the ground?9An adult ticket was £22, a slight increase on last season but still the joint cheapest so far this season.
Ground facilities, half time service, did they let fans outside at halftime?7Fans were allowed out for a half-time smoke. I don’t recall any half-time entertainment.
Match atmosphere, did the Dons fans give good support?6There were 290 Dons fans present. Support on the road has declined recently but the Dons fans did their best to to make some noise with the assistance of the drum.
Ease of exit, did the carpark clear quickly, traffic around the stadium?9Our exit from the ground and car park was quite quick.
