1’ Wednesday kick off the game shooting towards the Cowshed for the First-half.
1’ It only takes Wednesday 30 seconds to have the first chance of the game after a great ball in from the left-hand side lands at the feet of Bannan who’s shot is blocked by a Dons body.
8’ A low ball is whipped into the box but Cumming claims. Wednesday piling on the Pressure in the early stages looking dangerous on the attack but the Dons have stayed strong and resilient at the back.
14’ Dons have their first chance with Oyegoke blazing the ball well over the bar with an ambitious attempt. Shortly after Grigg has a shot saved well from Stockdale.
18’ The Dons are starting to get a better foothold in the game and are looking threatening down the right-hand side.
23’ Penalty Wednesday, Lewington brings down Windass. Replays suggest the contact was made outside of the penalty area. Windass converts from the spot and the Away end erupts. Owls lead.
24’ Stadium MK rises for a minute applause in memory of Lucy Dawson. A truly special moment. Rest easy, Lucy.
29’ Wednesday defender Akin Famewo is replaced by Jack Hunt after picking up an injury.
34’ Dele-Bishiru let’s fly from afar troubling the crowd more so than Cumming.
37’ Calum Patterson is almost played through by a sublime ball, but Tucker does well to clear. Shortly after, Windass has a shot blocked by Tucker as well.
41’ Will Grigg goes down after chasing the ball. He can’t continue and is replaced by Matt Dennis.
45+2’ Ihiekwe goes into the book for a late challenge on Nathan Holland.
45+4’ Jamie Cumming produces a phenomenal save from close range after Dele-Bashiru shrugs off Oyegoke.
HALF-TIME – A very on and off performance thus far for the Dons but it’s Wednesday who go in with the lead with Josh Windass converting from the spot.
46’ Robson has a half-chance shortly after the restart. Smith done well to get to the ball on the right-hand side and gets a cross off which is met by the midfielder but sails wide.
48’ A corner is swung in and is met by a Wednesday head, but Cumming saves comfortably.
52’ Nathan Holland requires treatment and will not be able to continue. Dan Kemp comes on in his place.
55’ Dennis is played through over the top, but Stockdale is quick on his toes and is there to clear.
58’ Dons come so close, but Stockdale produces a double save to deny the Dons an equaliser.
61’ Stockdale and Patterson collide, and the latter requires treatment. He is okay to continue.
64’ Louie Barry drives forward and cuts inside before firing a shot directly at Stockdale. Barry Bannan is now on the deck receiving treatment but is fine to continue.
67’ Barry Bannan goes into the book for a late challenge on Bradley Johnson.
68’ Dan Kemp had a huge chance to level the score, but Stockdale produces a fine save to keep the Owls ahead. Dons getting closer and closer as the game goes on.
71′ Another chance for the Dons but Dan Kemp fails to get a strong connection with the ball and goes out without causing any problems for the Wednesday back line.
76’ Double substitution for the Owls. Barry Bannan and Josh Windass are replaced by George Byers and Tyreeq Bakinson. Meanwhile, Patterson is shown a yellow for dissent.
79’ Dons also make a double change with Louie Barry and Ethan Robson make way for Irish duo Darragh Burns and Conor Grant.
80’ Another yellow for Wednesday as Adele-Bishiru goes into the referee’s book.
90’ As we head into 8 minutes of additional time, Oyegoke’s puts in a poor cross which goes out of play.
90+2’ A good chance for Wednesday as Dele-Bashiru cuts in on his right but has his shot blocked initially. The hall then lands at the feet of Vaulks who volleys the ball straight at Cummings.
90+4’ Wednesday doing a good job at running the clock down in the corner.
90+7’ Penalty shouts are waved away by the referee after Matt Dennis is pushed to the ground.
Full-Time: It’s a second successive defeat for the Dons who have a lot of work cut out for them. Despite a better second half, the Dons are edged out by a very strong Wednesday side 0-1. More concerns for the Dons as Grigg and Holland were both withdrawn due to injuries.
Next up, we face Sutton in the Carabao Cup at Stadium MK. A great opportunity to see some of the rotation players in action.
