REF WATCH CAMBRIDGE

Another season, another load of refs to moan about, but I guess we can’t complain too much, last season wasn’t too bad on the ref front, and I can’t recall any real bad efforts with the whistle, so we remain hopeful for this season.

First game up we are away to Cambridge United, and John Busby from Oxfordshire is the man in charge, with Adrian Waters and Leigh Crowhurst on the flags, and Stephen Finch as the 4th Official.

Last season ref Busby took charge of 34 games issuing 121 yellow cards and converting just one of those yellows to a double yellow. In addition, he has sent from the field of play 3 players and awarded just 6 penalties.

We last saw Mr Busby last season on our trip to Gillingham where we won 4-1 on September 18th. We went 1-0 down through the ever-present thorn in our side Vadaine Oliver, but we responded well through Twine (27) who needed two bites at the cherry after his spot kick was initially saved, Kioso (39), Parrott (83), and Watters (88) scored the others, in goal for Gillingham that day……yes you guessed it, Jamie Cumming.

Another snippet for you former Don Stuart O’Keefe was given his marching orders for a second yellow card offence.
