I can’t say I was overly impressed with the referee on Thursday considering his Championship credentials, he seemed a bit soft on Wycombe to me, but we shouldn’t expect too much from refs, we would only be disappointed.
Hopefully on Sunday we can turn in a better performance, it’s not over yet, so we can only hope our ref for the game Tom Brammall runs a tight ship.
In the grand scheme of things coming from Sheffield is better than of late, although not by much, and still means a round trip on 240 miles.
Mr Brammall is mainly in charge of Championship games these days after being on the EFL Fast Track Programme that saw him rise from the National League to the Championship in just 3 seasons, and he has only dipped his toe into the muddy waters of League 1 on 7 occasions this season out of the 31 overseen. In that time, he has shown the yellow card on 102 occasions and upgrading just one of those to a double yellow offence. In addition, he has shown 5 straight red cards and awarded 4 penalties.
Mr Brammall has only taken control of two games involving the Dons in his short career and we have failed to win either. The 3-0 home defeat by Sunderland in the EFL Trophy Quarter Final in February 2021 and the 0-0 draw away to Northampton in League 1 in November 2020.
On the flags will be Andrew Dallison and Craig Taylor, with Tim Robinson as the 4th Official, and Mark Pottage as Reserve Official.
