REF WATCH WYCOMBE

The Battle of Bucks, and you always hope to get a ref that doesn’t get caught up in the occasion and almost tries to make the game all about him, so this week we put our faith in Robert Lewis from Shropshire.

Mr Lewis has officiated at 18 games this season booking 55 players, 0 double yellow cards, just 1 sending off and has awarded 4 penalties.

The last time we saw Mr Lewis was in the 1-1 draw at Stadium MK against Posh in December 2020, and I think it was one of the few games we got to see in person during the lockdowns.

In a feisty affair Mr Lewis booked 6 players, Lewington, Sorinola, Harvie, and of course Kasumu for us.  At the time we were 18th and struggling somewhat and Posh were sitting in 4th place.

We had 64% possession but made little impact going forward, and it was the Posh who took the lead in the 25th minute from a Clarke-Harris header. With 12 minutes left the Dons pulled level, Fraser threaded a pass to Jerome who completed a composed finish to give the Dons a share of the spoils.

The point pushed us up to 15th and Posh up to 3rd, at the time Burton Albion were bottom and Wigan just one point above that, and out of the then current bottom four just Swindon failed to beat the drop.

Ref Lewis will be assisted on Saturday by Kevin Morris and Darren Blunden on the flags with Carl Brook undertaking the 4th official duties.
