TRASH TALK WYCOMBE

Many thanks to Wycombe fan Phil Blunt for taking part in this week’s edition of Trash talk ahead of the much awaited “Battle of Bucks” fixture. The Dons got the victory ay Stadium MK last time round, so let’s see how this Wycombe fan views the game.

1 – We are at the halfway stage of the season, has it gone about how you expected for your team so far, has it been better, or turned out to be a bit of a car crash season?

It’s gone as I expected so far. I thought WW were in with a genuine shout of going back up to the Championship at the start of the season and I still do. It’s an excellent division this year with some very big clubs, so to be in the top six and in touch with the automatic promotion spots is an excellent achievement.

2 – All fans love an away day; can you tell us which ground you have enjoyed visiting the most and why, on the flip side which ground turned out to be a real disappointment?

Although they aren’t in our division at the moment, I always love a visit to Leyton Orient. The supporters club bar is fantastic with some decent pubs nearby too. It’s lovely old club right in the heart of the community and near a train station.

I’m not keen on the modern out of town stadiums which tend to be hard to get to and a bit soulless. Colchester is a good example of this.

3 – Most fans have a special piece of memorabilia in their collection, a unique item that means something special to you, do you have such an item?

My 1993 FA Trophy final shirt was my first Wycombe replica top and I love it as it brings back great memories of the Chairboys rich non-league history. They were great times under Martin O’Neill with the club battling hard to get into the league with a few successful days at the old Wembley too.

4 – Every team has their own bogey club they just cannot seem to beat, who do you think yours?

Coventry City.

5 – Which player for your club is likely to be the biggest factor in success or failure of the result after 90 minutes?

Joe Jacobson. A brilliant servant for Wycombe and is a great defender who also scores and assists a lot too.

6 – Is there any MK Dons player you feel could spoil your day?

Scott Twine is an excellent player.

7 – We know its early still, but do you have any nailed-on selections for promotion and relegation?

Wigan are looking good and are grinding out results when they have to now too. Otherwise, it could easily be anyone else from seven other teams.

Down the bottom, Gillingham are the team I fear for the most.

8 – Many thanks for taking part, all we need now is a prediction for the game?

WW 2-0 MKD
