REF WATCH PORTSMOUTH

Another tough encounter with a trip to Fratton Park next on the agenda, and I seem to recall we have had in the past a bit of history with Saturday’s official, but I can’t remember when or what for, but it might come to me in a bit.

So, step forward Scott Oldham from Lancashire, and again another strange appointment by the FA who are certainly not trying to cut down on travelling expenses as Mr Oldham will have to take in a round trip of over 500 miles and a possible overnight stay, seems madness to me, but what do I know.

Ref Oldham has overseen 22 games this season dishing out 67 yellow cards, 0 double yellow offences, 2 straight reds and in addition has awarded 2 penalties.

It’s not been that long ago when we last saw him, in fact only September this season in our 1-0 home win against Wycombe Wanderers and it accounts for 1 of his red card stats and 1 of his penalty stats. On that day Parrot was upended just inside the box denying him a goal scoring opportunity, Stewart got his marching orders for committing the foul and Parrott dusted himself down to beat Stockdale from 12 yards in a game we had 78% possession, and 24 shots.

Mr Oldham will be assisted by Richard Morris and Conor Farrell on the flags with the popular Trevor Kettle as 4th Official.
