REF WATCH ROTHERHAM

Off the back of a great victory on Tuesday night and it must be said a great performance from ref Darren Drysdale and his team, who wouldn’t be swayed by the Wigan fans we look for more of the same from this week’s referee Chris Sarginson from Staffordshire.

The last time we saw Mr Sarginson was against you know who back in October 2020 when we played out a 1-1 home draw behind closed doors.

The visitors took the lead that day after 10 minutes when a long ball beat the home defence to send frontman Pigott through, who rounded goalkeeper Andy Fisher and tapped home. Russell Martin’s side were only behind for three minutes as Cameron Jerome got to the by-line and cut back to Fraser inside the box who found the net. Ref Sarginson booked 4 people during the game, Sorinola and Harvie for the Dons.

He has reffed 14 games so far this season, booking 48 players, and converting one into a double yellow and marching orders, he has not issued a straight red yet this season. In addition, he has awarded 4 penalties, 2 of those in his 5 League 1 fixtures.

He will be assisted by Andrew Hendley and Dan Cook on the flags, with Andy Bennett taking care of the 4th official role.
