GROUND GUIDE WIGAN

The 25,138 all seater DW Stadium (Sat Nav – WN5 0UZ) and is a 158-mile journey from Stadium MK.

We will be housed in the North Stand at one end of the stadium and the facilities as you would expect with modern stadia are good, with wide concourses, TV screens etc. The usual football ground fayre is on sale and better priced than many football grounds.

I’ve seen reports of a Marquee bar by the away end turnstiles, but I cannot say with any confidence this facility is still available, so if in the need of a drink or two the Red Robin by the Cinema Complex is designated away friendly, for those wishing to venture more, the town centre is a good 20-minute walk away, with the Moon Under Water being the pub getting the best reviews on fans sites.

Parking is available at the ground at £5 per car, and there is a designated away car park, but it tends to become a free for all getting out and delays can be plenty, but it must be better than taking a chance with the nearby Retail Park which has a two-hour limit, and there are plenty of reports of cars being ticketed, clamped and even towed away….so avoid that one.

For those letting the train take the strain, the ground is a walk of about 20 minutes from both the Wigan Northwest Station and Wallgate Station, trains to WNW are on the West Coast Main Line and serve Milton Keynes Central Station and London Euston and the journey should take you just over 2 hours.
