TRASH TALK BOURNEMOUTH

Trash Talk is back for the new season and we know its one of the favourite weekly match features on the website, we just hope the lads can go 100% on the season again and manage to get connected with every club again. First off its cup action and we are grateful to 28 year old Cherries fan Rob Lee. Many thanks to Rob and good luck for the season.

Looking back to last season after a summer of reflection, what is your assessment of how you got on last season?

I think playoffs was a minimal requirement, but I do think we both underperformed whilst overperforming. By that I mean, given our squad last season on paper, we probably should have gone up. However, our performances from December through to the end of January, and dotted throughout, were awful.

Looking forward, what are your expectations and hopes for this season?

Minimal of playoffs again, but this is a season of overhaul, expecting players to go and new players settling. Scott Parker’s aims are promotion, and probably automatically.

Can you tell us a little known fact or Historical event people may not have heard of?

George Best finished his career on the South Coast.

Are there any players “breaking through” from your system who could be the next big players for your club?

I think a lot will make it at some point, but he’s been on the periphery for ages, but I feel like young Irish midfielder Gavin Kilkenny may get a few more games.

How have your season ticket sales gone with the potential issues with restrictions?

Obviously, we now have been permitted to fill the stadium. Yes, we know, your garden sheds are bigger……I think we’ve sold about 6k.

We have capped all our season tickets at £230 in all areas in case of local lockdowns to cover the £10 a game on iFollow. Has your club come up with any Initiatives like this?

Simply, no.

Which MK Dons player stands out to you and why?

The one and only Andrew Surman (is he still there? Sorry!) wonderful player and a beautiful bloke. Underappreciated here in recent years.

What style of play can we expect to see from your team?

We don’t know ourselves! We think Parker wants an aggressive and offensive possession-based play.

Have you ever been to Stadium MK, if so, what’s your opinion on it?

Love it. Really tidy stadium. Went when we beat you 3-1, I believe, and Ryan Lowe got sent off for a horror tackle on Tommy Elphick.

Who are your tips for the league title, promotion, and relegation?

Championship

Title – WBA

Promotion – Bournemouth, Sheff United

Relegated – Derby, Bristol City, Peterborough

League 1

Title – Wigan

Promotion – Ipswich, Bolton

Relegated – Gillingham, Cambridge, Cheltenham

Can you give us your match prediction?
