GOALKEEPER CONFUSION AT SMK
Dons fans are becoming increasingly confused at the goalkeepers situation at SMK after news broke on Friday that last seasons No 3 goalkeeper Laurie Walker had put pen to paper to extend his stay in Milton Keynes after a successful loan period at Oldham Athletic last season where he played 13 games and got some good reviews on his heroics between the sticks.
The Dons appeared to have made their second signing of the summer transfer window securing the signature of the Eastbourne FC goalkeeper Franco Ravizzoli (Pictured Above) and was expected to be back up for Andrew Fisher following the departure of Lee Nicholls to Huddersfield. Eastbourne play in the National League South and were in third place when the season prematurely ended but despite Eastbourne FC breaking the news on Twitter at the beginning of the week the news has not been rubber stamped so far by the Dons.
The 23 year old Argentinian born keeper had been at Eastbourne since January 2020 and played 33 times across two seasons, both of which were bought to a sudden end thanks to Covid 19. But as one door closed another opened and for the remainder of last season Ravizzoli was training and assisting the coaching of the MK keepers and he obviously impressed Russ to get him to put pen to paper….or has he?
